About the Department:

  • 3 Hospital based Emergency Departments and 2 Observation Units

  • 50+ board certified emergency medicine attendings

  • 35 emergency medicine physician assistants

  • Teaching - 60 emergency medicine residents (largest EM training program in Philadelphia)

  • Emergency Pharmacists, Social Workers, Care Managers, Technicians and other support staff

  • Support of a strong administrative staff and the backing of a vast multi-specialty academic medical center

  • Total annual volume (all 3 EDs) approximately 155,000

  • Philadelphia ED is a level 1 trauma center, pediatric receiving hospital, STEMI center and AHA awarded Gold Plus with Honor Role stroke center

  • Magnet recognized nursing

  • Specialty treatments areas for critical care and mental health

  • Divisions of Research, Toxicology, EMS, Ultrasound, Education, Informatics, Observation

Requirements

  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school

  • Completion of an ACGME accredited EM residency
