Job Responsibilities

Deliver emergency medical care in a solo coverage setting, supported by two mid-level providers.
Evaluate and treat a variety of emergent and acute conditions for approximately 18-20 patients per 12-hour shift.
Manage patient care within an open ICU environment, coordinating with other departments as necessary.
Document all patient encounters accurately using Meditech 6.1 EMR.
Provide patient-centered care, meeting the needs of a high-volume emergency department with an annual patient volume of 32,000.

Qualifications

Board-certified or board-eligible in Emergency Medicine.
Active North Carolina medical license.
Credentialed with North Carolina Medicaid and enrolled in PECOS.
Proficiency with Meditech 6.1 EMR system.
Strong clinical decision-making skills in high-volume, fast-paced settings.

Working Hours

This Emergency Department sees an average of 90-100 patients per day, with physicians typically managing 18-20 patients per shift. The role is supported by mid-level providers and offers housing in hospital-owned apartments. The facility's open ICU requires a collaborative approach to patient care and emergency response.
