Are you ready to take on a pivotal leadership role in emergency medicine? St. Francis Hospital in Topeka, Kansas, is seeking a dedicated facility medical director to lead a highly skilled team in our busy and well-equipped emergency department (ED). This is your chance to combine clinical expertise with visionary leadership in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Your Role As Facility Medical Director:
  • Provide both clinical and administrative leadership for emergency medicine (EM) services
  • Opportunity to partner with our assistant facility medical director, ensuring collaborative and effective leadership
  • Oversee and mentor a team of physicians and advanced practice clinicians
  • Develop and sustain relationships with physicians, hospital administration, and staff
  • Participate in key hospital and TeamHealth meetings to shape clinical strategies and workflows
  • Collaborate with TeamHealth and St. Francis Hospital leadership to ensure the highest standards of care
About the Emergency Department:
  • 22-bed ED with an annual patient volume of 34,000
  • Diverse acuity levels and access to most backup specialties
  • Manageable pace of 1.9 patients per hour with a 12% admission rate
  • Supported by 34 hours of daily physician coverage and 30 hours of APC coverage
  • Advanced documentation with EPIC EMR

Qualifications:
  • Board certification: family medicine (FM) or internal medicine (IM) with emergency medicine experience, or EM residency trained
  • Leadership experience: proven ability to lead and inspire a team, with a minimum of 2 years in EM practice
