- Est. Length of Assignment: 6-12 months or longer
- 12-18 shifts a month
- Minimum # of shifts acceptable: 2-3 days if local and no travel
- 3-4+ days if not local and traveling in for shifts
- Staffing Model MD/DO: 3 Doc shifts
- Staffing Model NP/PA: 2 APP shifts
- Physician Shift Times: 6a-4p, 12p-10p, 8p-6a
- NP/PA Shift Times: 9a-7p, 3p-1a
- Annual Volume: 31,000
- Patients Per Day: 85
- % EMS: 13%
- % Admitted Patients: 25%
- Trauma level designation: Level IV
- No Scribe Coverage
- ED beds & fast track beds: 20 beds, 0 fast track, 4 hallway beds when needed
- ICU Beds: 12
- EMR System: Meditech Expanse
- Privileging Timeframe: 60-90 days after an application has been submitted
- Expedited locum privileges: Temp Privileges can be granted after provider has completed orientation the 1st Tuesday of the month during credentials meeting
- Onboarding requirements (Orientation/EMR training): Hospital required orientation which includes EMR training followed by shadow shift in ED
- Run codes on floor: No
- Vaccination requirements:
- Annual flu vaccination
- TB (within 6 months of application)
- MMR
- Tdap
- Varicella
- HepB
- We always have cardiology, general surgery, ortho, and OB/GYN. We always have Tele-neuro. We usually have ENT, and Heme/Onc. Right now, GI is about 50% of the time but they are actively recruiting for more GI and ENT
- We keep our STEMI patients. Stroke patients who get PA or need thrombectomy get shipped
- Recently started thrombectomy for massive PE. Also, this month we’ve started implanting pacemakers for complete heart block, so those don’t need to be shipped any more
- Our overall transfer rate is about 4%
- Will only consider candidates that have ABEM, AOBEM certs or board eligible ABEM/AOBEM
- Board certs must be maintained
- The facility will not accept alternative boards
- Residency Trained Requirements: EM only unless exception is made (Med Director must approve Residencies not in EM)
- ATLS, ACLS, PALS, BALS Required? Not required for boarded docs, non-boarded docs and APP’s must have ACLS. (Certifications must be American Heart Association)
- ED physicians must show evidence of ATLS (don’t need to maintain)
- Active state license required to proceed: App can be started without an active license but cannot go to meetings or be approved for temps without the license and DEA. Will accept IMLC
