Emergency Medicine opening in Maine - Located in Caribou - Bangor 200m - Full-time, permanent position Center currently has a need for a full-time Emergency Room Physician to work in our 24-hour ED which sees about 16,000 visits per year. The ED is a Level II trauma center, and sees a wide variety of cases, however, major trauma, cardiac, neurosurgery and other critical cases are transported to a tertiary care center. The physicians and nursing staff are specially trained in emergency medicine. The department has one trauma room and 11 exam rooms. Although patients are seen in order of severity of illness, a PA or Nurse Practitioner may see patients with less urgent needs. The ER physicians develop their own schedules, generally working three 12-hour shifts one week, and four the next. In addition to working a full-time schedule, Center can offer a flexible staffing model, such as per diem, and part-time; working site visits are welcomed. - Board certified or board eligible in Emergency Medicine or board certified or board eligible with a primary care board with ED experience - Allopathic and osteopathic physicians will be considered equally - American born and trained physicians and foreign-born physicians who have completed a US residency and/or fellowship will be considered equally - H1b and J1 Visa candidates will be considered - In-practice physicians, residents or fellows, and military-trained physicians will be considered equally
