Emergency Medicine Assistant Director Opening in MA Located in Gardner 60m to Boston The healthcare is an independent two hospital system in north central Massachusetts consisting of one hospital in Gardner and one hospital in Athol. We are currently seeking one well-qualified BE/BC emergency physician to fill a permanent position and an emergency physician to fill the administrative role of Assistant Director of Emergency Medicine. The hospital in Gardner has a new 21 bed ED which sees 27,000 patients per year and includes a fast track service. There is a robust mid-level provider program which provides 24 hours of coverage per day. The ED has an exceptional and collegial nursing staff. The hospital has an adult ICU, pediatric unit, adult psychiatric unit, geriatric psychiatric unit and wound clinic. There is 24/7 specialist coverage in cardiology, OB/GYN, orthopedics, general surgery and pediatrics as well as a strong hospitalist service. EPs work a combination of 8, 9 and 12 hour shifts. The hospital in Athol is a critical access hospital with an 8 bed ED which sees 11,000 patients per year. A brand new ED is scheduled to begin construction in April, 2016. EPs work 12 hours shifts with the option to work 24 hour shifts.
