Position Details:

Start Date: As soon as Credentialed– Ongoing

Coverage Needed: Primarily Mid-shifts, May Include Weekends

Schedule/Availability Requirements:

  • 8 - 8.5 hour shifts

Submission Requirements: ***All requirements must be met for submission.***

  • Board Certified/Board Eligible (Emergency Medicine) can consider BC FM(with minimum 10 years ED experience) Lakeside and Midlands) - REQUIRED
  • Active NE License (accepting willing to obtain) - Highly Preferred
  • Active ACLS, ATLS, BLS, & PALS - REQUIRED
  • Clean Malpractice - Highly Preferred
  • Availability Stated - REQUIRED, NOTE AT NAME CLEAR
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible: REQUIRED
  • Licensed in AK only: REQUIRED
  • Minimum 2 years experience: REQUIRED
  • Certifications: ACLS, ATLS, PALS - REQUIRED
  • Clean Malpractice Record: PREFERRED

Practice Overview:

  • Annual volume? Lakeside- IP ED Visits: 3,580 and OP ED Visits: 20,601; Midlands- IP Ed Visits: 842 and OP ED Visits: 12,368
  • Single or double coverage? LKS are single doc + APC, MDL is single doc
  • What is the schedule for app’s? LKS: 10a-8p, 2p-12a;
  • Does locum supervise app’s? Yes, at NE sites charts are cosigned by Physicians
  • Will you accept board certified Family & internal Medicine docs with ER experience? prefer not to if possible at sites
  • Will you accept docs who need to obtain a NE license since the need doesn’t start for at least 3 months? Full NE license is taking <6 weeks. YES
  • Scribes, No
  • Admits, 17-20%
  • ED responsible for coces: Ye at all campuses
  • Specialty Backup/Support: All located at CUMC-BM with and easy transfer center process
  • Dictation: EPIC with Dragon
  • Just Freestanding ED: yes
  • Duties: Routine ER duties; codes; ER locums don't have a lot of trauma responsibilities
