Perm - Physician - Emergency Medicine – Athens, Ohio
OVP Health is seeking a highly qualified, Board Certified Emergency Medicine Physician or a Family Medicine/Internal Medicine Physician with emergency medicine experience to join our team at Ohio Health O'Bleness Hospital in Athens, Ohio. Position Details:
- Location: Athens, Ohio (55 Hospital Drive, ZIP 45701)
- Facility: Ohio Health O'Bleness Hospital
- Specialty: Emergency Medicine or Family Medicine/Internal Medicine with EM experience
- Certifications: Board Certified in Emergency Medicine or appropriate specialty
- Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent (FTE) or Independent Contractor (IC)
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts; 24/7 physician and advanced practice provider coverage
- Patient Volume: Approximately 28,000 annually
- ED Bed Capacity: 22 beds
- Technology: EPIC EMR system
- Residency/Experience: Prefer candidates with prior emergency department experience; recent graduates are not eligible
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality emergency medical care to a diverse patient population in a busy rural hospital setting.
- Collaborate with hospital staff, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation within the EPIC EMR system.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and hospital committees as required.
- Handle a broad spectrum of acute medical cases, including trauma, cardiac emergencies, respiratory issues, and more, demonstrating clinical excellence and sound judgment.
- Adhere to all hospital protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Board Certification: Current and valid board certification in Emergency Medicine or Internal/Family Medicine with relevant EM experience.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ emergency department experience preferred.
- Licensing: Active Ohio medical license or ability to obtain one.
- Additional Skills: Strong communication, clinical decision-making, and teamwork skills.
- Other: Commitment to providing compassionate patient care in a rural setting; ability to work independently and efficiently.
Benefits & Opportunities:
- Competitive hourly rates, with options for W2 (with benefits) or 1099 (independent contractor) arrangements:
- W2: $240/hr (including health, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) with company contributions, and CME allowance)
- 1099: $250/hr (including guaranteed shifts)
