The emergency medicine (EM) residency at AdventHealth East Orlando seeks to hire an emergency medical services (EMS) director for the upcoming academic year. The EMS director will join a diverse and esteemed faculty at the 3-year, community-based EM program that has existed since 2008. The position will start in the summer of 2025.

- Facilitate monthly education on EMS-related topics delivered to EM residents at AdventHealth East Orlando
- Coordinate EM resident EMS experience with local EMS agencies
- Ensure efficient progress toward achieving learning objectives and progression through the EM Milestones as ACGME outlines
- Review session learning objectives, assigned preparation materials, and faculty guide prior to small group meetings as preparation for facilitating the session
- Respond to resident questions and concerns via email, discussion boards, and in-person meetings
- Provide input to committee(s), coaches, and advisors involved in making determinations regarding progress toward and achievement of graduating competencies
- Attend monthly faculty meetings
- Provide a safe learning environment by always treating residents respectfully; serve as a role model of professionalism and model respectful discussion and critical reflection
- Attend required faculty training sessions before and during the academic year
- Contribute to faculty development program activities, including onboarding and mentoring novice facilitators, by assisting them in preparation, allowing observation of sessions with debriefings, and providing guidance in completing written assessments
- May participate in relevant hospital committees
- Completion of a EMS fellowship or comparable fellowship with simulation experience, or experience as a simulation faculty member
- MD or DO degree
- Able to obtain a FL medical license
- Residency trained in emergency medicine
- Board eligible or certified through ABEM or AOBEM
