Emergency Medicine Physician & Residency Faculty

UPMC Harrisburg and UPMC Community

We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Emergency Medicine Physician to join our team as a Residency Faculty Member. This role is ideal for a physician with a passion for clinical excellence and a commitment to medical education. The successful candidate will work alongside our highly skilled team to provide top-tier emergency care while mentoring and teaching residents in our accredited Emergency Medicine Residency Program.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide high-quality, evidence-based care in a busy emergency department setting

- Supervise, mentor, and teach residents and medical students during clinical shifts

- Participate in the development and delivery of the residency curriculum, including lectures, simulation, and bedside teaching

- Engage in scholarly activities such as research, publications, and presentations

- Provide feedback and assessments of residents’ clinical performance

- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure patient-centered care

- Participate in departmental and hospital committees as needed

- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emergency medicine best practices and advances


Qualifications:

- MD or DO degree from an accredited institution

- Board certification or board eligibility in Emergency Medicine

- Current, unrestricted medical license (or eligibility for licensure) in Pennsylvania

- Previous teaching or academic experience is preferred but not required

- Strong clinical skills with a commitment to patient safety and quality improvement

- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills
