Locums – Corpus Christi, Texas, Emergency Medicine Physician Opening
Clinical Role:

- ASAP – Ongoing
- Reason for the need: Short 15 Full time physicians across the system
- Duration of need:1 Year
- On-site, call coverage, weekends, nights – All shifts are 6a - 6p, 6p - 6a with single doc coverage at the sites listed above
- No specific dates
- Do not need APPs currently
- Onboarding is 2 Hr process to educate on Meditech and local quality measures. Also, there will be one shadow shift at each main site and 1 shadow shift at any FSED (they all function the same)
- ABEM – Required
- At least 2 years of ED experience to work in FSEDs or Family medicine with Emergency medicine fellowship
- Number of beds: 18
- Daily Admissions: 10% admissions at FSEDs and 20% at doctors
- Multiple consults a day
- Two sites are Level IV trauma centers
- All sites see high acuity. Physicians must be efficient in central line placement, intubation, dislocation reductions, trauma, stemi, strokes, OB deliveries
- Generally no follow up needed on cases, however feedback is provided as needed
- Shift Times: 6a – 6p, 6p – 6a

- Ultrasound Utilization
- OB Delivery
- Dislocation Reductions
- Chest Tube Placement
- Trauma Management
- Laceration Repair
- Each site has APP coverage (total of 4 sites)
- 24 hrs app coverage everyday
- 9 hrs app coverage every day
- 11 hrs app coverage every day
- 12 hrs APP coverage every day
- Average patient census: 80 (these numbers are per day)
- All Variety of Emergency Medicine Cases
- Annual ER admissions: 10% admissions at FSEDs and 20% at doctors
- No Call
- 1 EM per shift at all sites
