Start Date: Urgent need, as soon as credentialed (Temp Privileges)- Ongoing

Coverage needed: This is a Critical Access Rural Hospital and will see many of the same things as larger hospitals except less volumes.

SCHEDULE :

• 7a-7p and 7p-7a
• Several 24 hour shifts open as well as 12 hours.

• • Board Certified EM, FM, IM or Board Eligible within 5 years of Residency: REQUIRED
  • Must have Certifications in hand to submit: ACLS, PALS, ATLS: REQUIRED
  • Licensed in AR only - REQUIRED
  • Clean Malpractice Record: PREFERRED

Practice Description:

• Central line placement, suturing, I&D, dental blocks, foreign body removal, reductions, cardio conversation, codes, Stroke and STEMI, pediatrics and adults.
• Average number of patients per physician per day: 15-18/day
• Average patients per hour: 2
• Beds in department: 12
• Support staff: 3 RN’s
• We do not have any call for our ED physicians.
• Locums do not round anywhere other than on their ED patients in the ED department.
• Locum will admit to hospital but via our Hospitalist.
• Locum does not write the admission orders, but they do call the Hospitalist and the Hospitalist makes the decision whether to admit.
• Also, the ED physician is the only physician in the hospital often and always at night.
• We will begin having medical residents here starting July 2024 and they will rotate through the ED.
• The ED physician responds to a code on med surg if one is called, which is not often.
• Required Procedures: central line placement, suturing, I&D, dental blocks, foreign body removal, reductions, cardio conversation, codes, Stroke and STEMI, pediatrics and adults.
