Location: Blue Ridge, GA

Start Date: Late August/Early September

Shifts:

• 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
• 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
• Single provider coverage

Support Staff:

• Nurses: Up to 4 nurses during the day, reduced to 2 after 11:00 PM
• Respiratory Therapy: Available 24/7

Procedures Required:

• Proficiency in all common emergency medicine procedures including:
  • Central line placement (POC ultrasound available)
  • Chest tube insertion
  • Intubation (Glidescope available)
  • Fracture reduction and splinting
  • Complicated laceration repair
  • Emergent newborn delivery

Radiology:

• Plain Films: Must be able to interpret your own plain films due to unpredictable radiology read times
• CT: Available 24/7 with reads
• Ultrasound: Available Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (not on call)
• POC Ultrasound: Limited to linear probe only

Volume:

• Approximately 28 patients per day (75% day shift, 25% night shift)

Facility Details:

• 6 beds with telemetry
• 3 additional hall beds available when needed

We are seeking 1 or 2 locum tenens physicians to join our emergency medicine team. The ideal candidates will be proficient in a broad range of emergency procedures and comfortable working independently in a busy, standalone ED.
