Providence Medical Group as currently seeking a Director of Emergency Medicine to lead and grow a strong mission-driven team of 25 Physicians in Eureka, California. The Director will be responsible for the oversight of two locations, Providence St. Joseph Hospital and Providence Redwood Memorial Hospital. St Joseph Hospital is a 20 bed emergency department, the primary referral center on the North Coast, and is Level III Trauma Center supported by a wide range of specialist coverage including a Trauma service, Orthopedics, OBGYN, Pediatrics, Neurology, GI, Vascular Surgery, CT Surgery, Urology and Neurosurgery. Providence Redwood Memorial Hospital is a critical access 8 bed emergency department in Fortuna, California. Together these two facilities treat approximately 50,000 patients per year. - The Director will be responsible for the oversight of two locations, Providence St. Joseph Hospital and Providence Redwood Memorial Hospital
- Provide clinical and administrative leadership of the division in collaboration with executive leaders and managers.
- Monitor the division’s financial, productivity and quality performance in collaboration with the leadership team.
- Establish and monitor quality metrics
- Establish annual staff physician goals and objectives in collaboration with individual physicians within the department
- Evaluate the performance of the physicians and support physician education and development
- Hold department meetings regularly and communicate department changes.
- Provider Medical Leadership for our Sexual Assault and Response Team
- Provide base support for local ambulance services
- Participate in key hospital committees.
- Review and create departmental policies.
- Provide oversight of our Advance Practice Providers
- Facilitate execution of hospital based quality improvement initiatives
- Establish hiring needs for the department based on scheduling
- Participate in the recruitment process of new physicians by interviewing and selecting new physicians for the department
- Emergency Medicine board certification required
- 5 years of Emergency Medicine physician experience
- 3-5 years of department leadership experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Compensation is between $353,961 and $487,150 per year
- The posted salary reflects the starting range of total compensation and may include productivity bonuses, incentives related to quality and performance, hospital/ED call stipends, extra shift incentives, and other forms of cash compensation as applicable to the position. In addition, providers typically receive a CME allowance and other benefits offered by their medical group employer. Please note that this salary range is provided in accordance with State law and is subject to variation due to the factors noted above
