**Locums Emergency Medicine Position in Rice Lake, WI** **Coverage** - Start: ASAP - End: Ongoing **Position Details** - Practice Setting: Inpatient - EMR System: Cerner - Providers Requested: 1 - Coverage Type: Scheduled Clinical Hours Only - Will Facility Accept Multiple Providers? Yes - Admissions Required? Yes - Temporary Privileges Available? Yes - Is Hospital Stroke Certified? Yes - Patients Per Shift: 10-20 - Bed In Department: 16 **Requirements** - Minimum Board Certification: Eligible - The Following Certifications Are Required: ACLS, ATLS, BLS, PALS - Estimated Credentialing Timeframe: 60 days **Additional Information** - Will Provider Be Required To Supervise Advanced Practice Providers? Yes - Is Resident or Teaching Supervision Required? Yes - This is a full-time and ongoing need starting as soon as June to fill sporadic shifts. Flexibility is needed but availability to cover several shifts per month is essential. - Temp privileges will be available for someone with a clean file. Cross credentialing/privileging at other locations in the system where help is needed. - Shift times include 6:30a-6:00p and 6:00p-6:30a, with an APC on site each day from 10a-10p. - Acuity of patients: 15% Resuscitation/Emergent, 50% Urgent, 35% Semi-Urgent/Non-Urgent. - Yearly patient volume is estimated at 14,000 visits per year. - Percent of admissions is ~9.9% year to date. - Percent of transfers is ~3.9% year to date. - ER providers respond to inpatient codes, generally not required to be ABEM at this location. - Prefer locums with monthly availability of 4-6 shifts/month but need flexibility to fill the holes in the schedule. Single coverage. Providers may have opportunities to float to other locations such as Stevens Point, Park Falls, Eau Claire. - Temporary diversion of OB patients which is expected to end July-Aug but yet TBD: OB patients of any gestation will now be seen in the ED and transferred if in labor to a facility with an OB department if safe to transport. We will have 2 OB nurses in house during this divert, but no OB provider. One OB nurse will be based in the ED, but the ED provider will be responsible for the patient's care and can consult over the phone with an OB doctor in Eau Claire for questions.
