Job Title: Emergency Medicine Staff Physician (Locums/1099)

Position Overview: We are currently seeking motivated Emergency Medicine Staff Physicians to join our dynamic team in Binghamton, NY. The Staff Physician will play a critical role in providing high-quality medical care to patients presenting to the Emergency Department (ED) with acute medical conditions, injuries, or trauma. This position offers a competitive compensation package with the opportunity to earn incentives and work flexible shifts in a collaborative and supportive environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide timely and compassionate medical care to patients presenting to the ED with a wide range of acute medical conditions, injuries, or trauma.
- Conduct comprehensive medical evaluations, order diagnostic tests, and interpret results to formulate accurate diagnoses and treatment plans.
- Initiate and administer appropriate medical interventions, including medications, procedures, and treatments, in accordance with established protocols and guidelines.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including nurses, advanced practice clinicians (APCs), and support staff, to ensure coordinated and efficient patient care.
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, case conferences, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and optimize clinical practice.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient encounters in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Adhere to all regulatory and compliance standards, including HIPAA, OSHA, and state licensure requirements.
- Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and empathy in all interactions with patients, families, and colleagues.
Requirements:
- Board certification or eligibility in Emergency Medicine (ABEM, AOBEM) is required.
- Candidates with board certification or eligibility in Family Medicine/Emergency Medicine (FM/EM) or Internal Medicine/Emergency Medicine (IM/EM) will also be considered.
- Must be within 5 years of completing residency training.
- Current licensure as a physician in the state of New York.
- Previous experience in emergency medicine is preferred but not required.
- Strong clinical skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centered approach to care.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and adapt to changing priorities and situations.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including 11 and 12-hour shifts with some double coverage, and occasional overnight shifts with single provider coverage from 3am-6am.
