Position Overview:
Provide dermatological care to Ryan Health patients referred by Ryan primary care providers for management in the consultant's specialty. This work is carried out in support of the mission and goals of Ryan Health.

Essential Functions:

  • Examine, diagnose, and treat as indicated, those Ryan Health Center patients referred by Ryan primary care providers through the appointment schedule or as walk-ins, consistent with standards for quality of care and productivity.
  • Refer patients, as indicated, to primary care and specialty providers; to refer patients, as indicated to back-up facility for clinic consultations, tests and other related procedures not provided at the Center.
  • Complete all necessary paper work in connection with these duties, including, but not limited to: adequate and legible progress notes in the medical record, prescriptions, encounter forms, referral forms, and other forms required by the Data Processing Department and by reimbursement and regulatory agencies.
  • Provide consultations to other Center practitioners.
  • Supervise the patient care activities of paramedical personnel assigned to work with him/her in the area.
  • Participate as requested in in-service Education in respective specialty to other health care practitioners of the Center.
  • Immediately report any problems or unusual occurrences to supervisor.
  • Practice accepted infection control measures in accordance with the OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens standards and Center policies and procedures.

  • Must demonstrate a professional, courteous and respectful attitude in dealing with patients, immediate supervisor, and other employees.

Education, Licenses and/or Certifications Required:

  • Graduate of an approved Medical School.
  • Completion of Dermatology Residency Program.
  • Board Certified/Eligible in Dermatology.
  • Must be licensed to practice medicine In the State of New York. Must be Board Eligible/Certified in Dermatology.

Preferred Qualifications:
Good character, strong interpersonal skills, flexibility of working hours, and second language skills helpful.

Work Environment
