Radixsol is currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Physician in Critical Care specialty to join our team. We are looking for who is committed to providing excellent patient care in a collaborative, patient-centered environment. This position can be filled as a full-time role or as a locum tenens opportunity.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct physical exams, order diagnostic tests, interpret results, and establish treatment plans.
  • Respond to emergency situations promptly and appropriately.
  • Monitor vital signs, administer life-support systems, and adjust treatments as necessary.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (nurses, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, surgeons, etc.) to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Participate in case discussions, rounds, and decision-making processes.
  • Document all patient interactions, including medical histories, diagnostic results, treatment plans, and procedures performed.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of patient progress and changes in condition.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital protocols and regulatory requirements.

Practice Setting:

  • Medical, Surgical, Trauma
  • Trauma Level: 2
  • Intensivist Unit: H2
  • Average Number of ICU Patients Per Day: 8-12
  • Rounding, admissions, very rarely discharges.
  • Total Number of Beds: 32 open ICU - Hospitalists take care of many of the rest of the patients.
  • Number of ICU Beds: Varies on census as it is not a closed ICU.

Supervisory and Teaching Responsibilities:

  • Locum Physicians are required to supervise other healthcare providers: PAs, NPs, residents.
  • Involvement in covering/supervising teaching services for residents in neurology, emergency medicine, and internal medicine.

Documentation System/EMR:

  • EPIC

Required Procedures:

  • Ventilation Management:
    • Invasive (ETT/NT/Tracheostomy)
    • Non-Invasive (BiPAP/CPAP)
  • Insertions:
    • Central Line
    • Arterial Line
    • PA Catheter
  • Diagnostic/Therapeutic Taps:
    • Lumbar puncture
    • Paracentesis
    • Thoracentesis
  • Additional Procedures:
    • Chest tube insertion
    • Bronchoscopy
    • Evaluation and management of acute volume/BP issues
    • Temporary pacemaker

Qualifications:

  • Board Certified in Critical Care - REQUIRED
  • MI License or IMLC - REQUIRED
  • BLS, ACLS - REQUIRED

Working Hours

Physician and APP 6:00am-6:00pm
Physician and APP 5:30pm-6:30am
May work some weekends / holidays
