Job Summary:
- Provides psychological services to patients, residents, consumers, students &/or inmates
- Provides advice & consultation on psychological matters:
- Conducts psychological &/or neuropsychological evaluations/assessments
- Administers, scores & interprets psychological tests
- Reviews pre-admission or pre-treatment data
- Conducts interviews & writes evaluation reports & treatment plans
- Evaluates treatment plans developed & quality of service rendered by others
- Coordinates psychological services & programs
- Assists with program development & conducts research on psychological assessment & treatment
- May act as lead worker over lower level psychological services staff
- Conducts individual & group counseling & psychotherapy on various issues
- Follows up on treatment & writes progress reports
- Conducts psychological evaluations &/or court order forensic evaluations
- Conducts suicide risk assessments
- Diffuses / de-escalates issues & role models positive behaviors
- Conducts ongoing assessments of inmates to identify, prevent &/or contain significant lethality risks
- Provides psychological services to offenders under Adult Parole Authority oversight
- Coordinates services between institution mental health services & local community providers
- Completes re-entry accountability plans & conducts home visits
- Provides specialized sex offender therapies
- Provides psychological treatment in form of psycho-educational classes & group psychotherapy
- Participates in treatment team functions & provides technical assistance
- Recommends policies & procedures for patient assessment, evaluation & treatment
- Evaluates defendants / patients for mental status, competence to stand trial &/or sanity
- Writes comprehensive forensic reports & recommendations for courts
- Appears in court as expert witness on forensic / psychological matters
- Writes discharge summaries & behavioral recommendations
- Prepares statistical reports & graphs summarizing behavioral progress
- Acts as liaison for offenders with various boards and staff
- Serves as advisor on psychological matters for various groups and organizations
- Participates in staff development & in-service training programs
- Serves on &/or chairs facility-wide committees
- Acts as consultant with various professionals and families
- Participates in weekend coverage for evaluation of offenders on suicide watch
Requirements:
- Psychologist License
- CPR/BLS
- Covid vaccination card
