About this role:
The Advanced Practice Provider Cardiology Fellowship is an immersive training program for recent Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant graduates with an interest in furthering their education in the field of Cardiology. Our 12-month program includes clinical time under the guidance of experienced preceptors, rotations through multiple cardiac modalities, engagement in didactic learning, and opportunities to participate in journal clubs and a research/QI project.
The Cardiology Fellowship is a three-year commitment designed to provide comprehensive training and professional growth. After completing the training program, you will continue to work with us for an additional two years as a full provider, applying the skills and knowledge you have gained. This commitment ensures continuity of care for our patients and team members, and allows you to further develop your expertise in this field. The entire three-year commitment must be completed in Nevada, offering you the opportunity to build a strong professional network and make a lasting impact on our community. This is a full-time, benefit eligible position.
Application Process:
Applicants must be Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants who have graduated from an accredited school within the 12 months prior to the interview, and have less than nine months working experience as an APP.
Our Fellowship application process consists of three components; all three must be completed by Wednesday, March 5 at Noon PST.

After the components have been reviewed, selected candidates will interview in-person with program leadership, faculty, and recruiting staff.

What you’ll bring:
- Must have a current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in Nevada AND have taken board examination three months prior to start date (anticipated start date: July 7, 2025).
- Certificate of completion from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program within the last 12 months and be employed for no more than nine months as an APP.
- Current Nevada DEA certificate and Nevada Pharmacy license required prior to start date (or in-process).
- BLS certification required prior to start date (or in process).

Physical Requirements:
Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.- and -
Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.

Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.

Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.

Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc).

May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
