MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center has an excellent full-time opportunity for a Fellowship-trained Board Certified or Board Eligible Cardiac Anesthesiologist to join a group located in Mason City, Iowa.
Job Description:
- The group includes seven physicians and twelve CRNAs and provides Anesthesia coverage for a progressive hospital and ASC in North Central Iowa. Daily work assignments and call rotation are divided between designated staff and physicians.
- The selected candidate will provide coverage for general cases, Cardiac, Thoracic, Vascular, Neuro, Ortho, Pediatric and OB.
- There is a Level 2 Trauma ER but no Pain Clinic.
- The selected candidate will also provide oversight of CRNAs.
- This position will cover Cardiac surgeries and provide Cardiac call Monday – Thursday. General Weekend call will be six weekends per year and one holiday per year. Call pay for Cardiac procedures Anesthesia performed in the hospital when on call. If no Cardiac cases are scheduled during the week, the provider will be assigned general cases.
- Growing hospital cardiac surgery program
- Practice Setting: Hospital based. On rare occasions may need to oversee CRNAs at the ASC if no cardiac cases are scheduled and a physician is needed at the ASC location.
- Documentation System/EMR: Cerner - moving to EPIC, some paper
- Average Number of Surgical Cases Per Day: Cardiac surgeries 1/day, but not every day; 5-7 general cases/day. Must help cover general if no cardiac cases.
- Patient Age Demographic: Adolescent, Child, Adult, Geriatric. Very sick children are sent to other hospitals better staffed/equipped for children.
- Number of Operating Rooms: 8 in use at one time
