Job Summary

Novant Health Heart & Vascular Institute and Innovation Center in the Greater Charlotte region of North Carolina is a large multispecialty Institute providing integrated inpatient and outpatient service line management of the cardiology and surgical cardiovascular patient.

Due to system growth and expansion, we are recruiting for a Medical Director, Advanced Heart Failure for our Charlotte region. The Medical Director of Heart Failure will split his or her time between clinical practice and administration. The Medical Director will lead the organization in heart failure outcomes initiatives. S/he will contribute to the continued growth and development our heart failure program, including establishing a destination left ventricular assist device (LVAD) center at Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center as well as outreach and clinical support at our six surrounding hospitals and 11 ambulatory sites within the Charlotte area.

The position will require high level skills including:
  • clinical consultative cardiology
  • proficiency in the management of the entire spectrum of heart failure
  • Fellowship training in heart failure including mechanical circulatory support and recent exposure to contemporary management of the heart failure patient through all care transitions is preferred.

This position will benefit from:

Qualifications

Education:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of medicine required
  • Completion of an accredited residency program required
  • For specialty physicians - completion of an accredited fellowship program specific to medical specialty

Licensure/Certification/Registration:
  • Current MD license in appropriate state
  • Board certification or eligibility
  • Current DEA license required
