This is a rural area and considered a Healthcare Provider Shortage Area (HPSA), affording many benefits to the Physician, while geographically positioned just outside the Capital-Saratoga Region in the foothills of the Adirondacks. The location is desirable for those wishing for a sense of community and purpose, outdoor activities, great neighborhoods, good schools and proximity to all the Capital District has to offer by way of entertainment and enrichment. The practice is located on the Hospital campus. Office hours are from 9:00am to 4:30pm. Overnight consults are performed in the early am when you are on call. More urgent consults can be performed throughout the day when you are on call. Scheduling accommodation is made for this. Our experienced Cardiology Nurse Practitioners can attend office hours and/or perform consults on the non-CCU/ICU inpatients. They also perform the stress test proctoring. You would have EKG, stress test, Holter reading responsibilities. There is NO EVENING or WEEKEND in-Person Call. You will receive calls from the ER or the Hospitalists regarding something urgent, an admission or pending transfer. There is a requirement that rounds be performed on inpatients as necessary Saturday mornings. This is usually a four (4) hour commitment. We have a 12-location strong network of Primary Care practices that serve as the referral source for your practice.
