Overview

Job Description:

  • New opportunity exists for a general cardiologist to join 5 well-established excellent cardiologists and 3 nurse practitioners in our I-80 Ottawa/Peru based practice. Our cardiologists provide clinic coverage at three area hospitals, including OSF Saint Elizabeth Medical Center (Ottawa, IL Campus), OSF Saint Elizabeth Medical Center (Peru Campus) and OSF St. Clare Medical Center (Princeton, IL); along with clinic opportunities in all hospital locations and Streator, IL.
  • The cardiovascular service line consists over 55 Cardiologists and surgeons. This includes complex EP (VT ablation program) and interventional providers and a cardiac transplant program within the system. You will walk into a progressive practice that will be busy from day one with a primary care referral base of 300+ providers.
  • Opportunity includes EKGs interpretation, echocardiography, TEE, stress testing, nuclear cardiology, and cardiac CT (coming soon).
  • No call responsibility , with Monday through Friday coverage. Typical inpatient coverage of 2 days a week with clinic coverage 3-4 days a week.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Licenses/Certifications: Physician Licensed (or eligible to be licensed) to practice medicine in current state. Licensed by the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration and the State of Illinois to prescribe narcotics, if applicable.

Board certified or board eligible in the appropriate specialty(ies). Obtain and maintain medical staff membership and appropriate privileges.

Must be eligible as a provider for Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal health programs.

Physician shall meet all qualifications to participate in OSF programs for professional malpractice and other liability coverage.
