- Covers Post Op Cardiac Surgery patients on 3 Toll as well as those patients that have moved to 5 Lenfest on their way to discharge
- Must be comfortable with central lines (IJ) and arterial lines (radial)
- Basic ventilator management. In-house Respiratory Therapy.
Opportunity Details:
- Shift: Monday- Friday 6:30pm- 6:30am and Saturday- Sunday 5:00pm- 6:30am
- Manage a CT surgery/Cardiology ICU unit (“the CSU”). Typical volume 8-10 patients
- Write brief evening progress notes on post-op patients in the unit. Post op day #0 patients may need a more thorough note.
- Manage PRN issues for these patients, as well as a handful of CT surgery patients on 5 Lenfest (tele floor)
- In-house Anesthesia. No intubations.
- Perform up to 3 Cardiology consultations until midnight (no new consults after midnight unless called in as “urgent” or emergent–rare). One weekend shifts, perform up to 5 Cardiology consultations until midnight (no new consults after midnight unless called in as “urgent” or emergent–rare).
- Coverage of answering service. May need to speak to caller–otherwise down patient’s name, DOB, and issue on log sheet that gets faxed to the office in the AM for them to follow-up during normal business hours)
Requirements:
- BC/BE
- Must be a Cardiology or Pulmonary/Critical Care Attending, or a Fellow in Cardiology or Pulmonary Critical Care (exceptional candidates from other fields may be considered on a case by case basis)
- Active Pennsylvania state license
