General Cardiologist

Our client is seeking non-invasive, Fellowship-trained cardiologist to join our thriving practice of three well established cardiologists and one nurse practitioner. The culture of the practice is one of friendly and outstanding professionalism, mutual support, and integrated systems of care: including our Emergency Department, ICU, and Hospitalist Program. We foster strong relationships with both Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center and the University of Vermont Medical Center for our invasive cardiology and electrophysiology procedures.

Responsibilities:

  1. Patient Evaluation and Diagnosis:

    • Conduct thorough medical histories and physical examinations.
    • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including EKGs, echocardiograms, and stress tests.
    • Diagnose and evaluate various cardiovascular conditions.
  2. Treatment Planning:

    • Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans for patients with heart-related disorders.
    • Prescribe medications, lifestyle modifications, and other interventions to manage and treat cardiovascular conditions.
  3. Patient Education:

    • Educate patients on their cardiovascular conditions, treatment options, and lifestyle changes.
    • Provide guidance on risk factor management, including diet, exercise, and smoking cessation.
  4. Monitoring and Follow-up:

    • Monitor patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
    • Conduct regular follow-up appointments to assess intervention effectiveness and address patient concerns.
  5. Cardiac Procedures:

    • Perform and interpret diagnostic cardiac procedures, such as angiograms and catheterizations.
    • Refer patients for specialized interventions, including angioplasty or cardiac surgery, when necessary.
  6. Collaboration with Healthcare Teams:

    • Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals, including nurses, technologists, and specialists, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  7. Research and Continuing Education:

    • Stay updated on the latest advancements in cardiology through continuous learning.
    • Engage in clinical research to contribute to the field's knowledge and improve patient outcomes.
  8. Adherence to Ethical and Regulatory Standards:

    • Adhere to ethical standards and regulations governing medical practice.
    • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient records and treatment plans.
  9. Emergency Cardiac Care:

    • Provide emergency cardiac care as needed, including responding to cardiac emergencies and participating in on-call rotations.

Qualifications:

  • Board certification in cardiology fellowship trained.
  • Valid medical license and compliance with state of Vermont.
  • Proven experience as a General Cardiologist.
  • Strong diagnostic and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
