The Charleston Area Medical Center Institute for Academic Medicine is seeking to employ an advanced cardiac imaging specialist with skills in structural transesophageal echocardiography.

Required Qualifications:

  • MD/DO from an accredited university medical school
  • Graduate of an accredited ACGME cardiology residency and subspecialty training in Structural echocardiography, cardiovascular CT, and/or cardiovascular MRI
  • Board certified with the ABIM in cardiology and preferred subspeciality certification in advanced imaging field
  • Ability to obtain a West Virginia state medical license and DEA
  • Ability to achieve full and unrestricted hospital privileges at Charleston Area Medical Center
  • Exceptional collaboration abilities
  • Sustained knowledge and accomplished success in clinical skills with experience in supporting medicine post-graduate fellowship training
  • Support structural heart physicians in preplanning and in procedure imaging for the structural heart program

This opportunity operates out of a dedicated cardiac imaging center with the following:

  • Dedicated cardiac CT (Siemens Force performing 600 scans/month)
  • Nuclear Medicine- 2 Cardio MDs (300 stress and non-stress/month)
  • Echocardiography- 5 outpatient-only units (550 exams/month)
  • Dedicated cardiac MRI (Siemens Sola) 1.5T install January 2023 (currently do 80 scans/month on a non-cardiac dedicated scanner)
  • Heart Flow Program- Received Quality awards quarterly, Direct flow pathway
  • Structural TEE program to support TAVR, Mitral Clip, Watchman, PFO/ASD Closure
