Job Description
This hospital employed 12 physician integrated cardiology practice is seeking a board certified/board eligible Interventional Cardiologist. Cookeville, TN is centrally located between Nashville, Knoxville, and Chattanooga. The new physician will have a mix of both general cardiology and performing invasive non-interventional exploratory cath. procedures.
The only tertiary cardiology program for a 14-county area, known as the Upper Cumberland region, is the sole STEMI referral center and provides the most cardiology services in this area. Cookeville’s two cardiac surgeons provide high quality coronary bypass and valve surgery program inclusive of TAVR, MitraClip & Watchman.
THE PRACTICE:
- 12 Physician Collegial Practice
- 22 exam rooms in clinic
- M-F 7:30 – 5:00
- Total office staff consists of 65 (20 are clinicians)
- See 20-25 plus patients per day in clinic
- Hospital call of 1:7

The Medical Center is a city owned 247 bed nonprofit hospital with a 350,000-catchment area. Exceptional earning potential with extremely large referral base that covers 14 Counties. Full-service regional hub inclusive of all cardiovascular and surgical services. With over 200 physicians in 40 different medical and surgical specialties, the hospital offers patients the same kind of care they can expect in a larger metropolitan area including specialty services that also include cardiothoracic surgery, neurosurgery, vascular surgery, pulmonology, cancer treatment and orthopedics.
The city is only 70 minutes from Nashville Airport and serves as the county seat. The city population is 35,000 (county 80,000), with service that covers 14 counties. A wide variety of recreational and cultural opportunities are provided for residents of Putnam County and the Upper Cumberland Region by local governments, the state park system, civic clubs and community organizations. Cane Creek Park, a 260-acre park with a 56-acre lake is owned and operated by the City of Cookeville’s Department of Leisure Services. Three state parks offer many camping, picnicking, hiking, and other recreational opportunities. Three Corps of Engineer lakes, with over 1,200 miles of shorelines, are within a 30-minute drive.
