Job Description
Interventional Cardiology Position in North Florida/Physician Jobs
INTERVENTIONAL CARDIOLOGIST OPTION AVAILABLE IN NORTH FLORIDA!
Interventionalist w/ heavy peripheral skills or interest – NO structural. We have a tremendous volume of patients and the doctors who join our group will become busy right away. Per client: The interventionalist must have top quality peripheral skills including complex cases below the knee. We would like to see someone with at least 1000 peripherals or a dedicated vascular fellowship.
Established seven year old group. It is a private practice that is single specialty cardiology and peripheral vascular disease practice. There are five physicians in the group – four interventionalist and one electrophysiologist . The practice is located around the Jacksonville community and across the street from the Hospital.
The office has an abundance of exam rooms, well-trained medical assistants, five ARNP’s. Full ancillary services including nuclear medicine including cardiac PET, echocardiography, vascular ultrasound, pacer checks, remote and holter monitoring etc. We have registered techs (RVT and RDMS) and have a very busy venous program including laser and radio frequency ablations and sclerotherapy, etc.
The lab is busy with peripheral vascular and coronary diagnostic angiograms. The peripheral cases include many complex peripheral interventional cases. Including laser atherectomy, rotoblator, angio jet, etc. The peripheral vascular is well established with a diverse referral base. Importantly the more experienced operators work alongside and help new peripheral interventionalists gain the experience and exposure to the complex cases at the office based lab.
HOSPITAL – the office is located across the street from the hospital, which is approximately 450 beds. This hospital has 6 labs, 4 cardiac and Peripheral, one or two full time EP labs and a hybrid room that can do routine coronary and PV, EP WACHMAN, lead extraction, latest ablations and has a structural program including TAVR.
The practice maintains several sub offices. Ordinarily, there may be one or two days per month to a sub office for clinic. The clinics are not far away and the entire day will be spent there with no other duties. Most of all the doctors live in the middle of this area and are equal distance to all offices from your home.
Call rotation for STEMI is most often for established group patients mostly and once per month or so it may coincide with the hospital STEMI call. The group is on call rotation (1:4 or 5). We have about 25-35 patients in the hospital every day to consult or round and this number will grow. We have ARNP’s to assist.
The hospital rounding rotates to the on call dr. …. The group admits 99% of the patients through the hospitalists or PCP’s and our cardiologists only are consulting. After you leave for the evening, usually phone calls only except interventionalist respond to STEMI or cold legs.
The volume of this practice is high, the referrals come from over 100 referral sources and there is a very large population of established patients in the group. You will enter a very busy practice. There will be some general cardiology for everyone in the group, but the EP and interventionalists will be an extremely busy with PV and coronary cases. The structural program is growing, but this is not a high volume structural position.
