Advanced Heart Failure & Transplant Cardiologist

Full-time Opening in Santa Clara, California

The Permanente Medical Group, Inc. (TPMG) is seeking a Board-certified/Board-Eligible Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiologist to join our team at Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara, which serves at the advanced heart failure referral center serving 4.6 million patients across Northern California through our integrated health care system of 21 hospitals.

The Center for Advanced Heart Failure therapies at Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara is the primary hub for quarternary cardiac care and provides comprehensive heart failure care across the spectrum, including cardiogenic shock necessitating temporary mechanical circulatory support. We are a multidisciplinary team that includes 4 AHFT cardiologists, advanced practice providers, heart failure pharmacists, specialized heart failure/transplant nurses, and a dedicated social worker and psychologist. We also share an advanced heart failure fellowship with Stanford University and provide the full spectrum of care for pre-and post-cardiac transplant patients. Our comprehensive program is supported by a multispecialty team offering advanced cardiac imaging, complex coronary and structural heart interventions, adult congenital heart disease, and electrophysiology.

The interested candidate has a unique opportunity to participate in ongoing program building, have a major role in expansion of our regional shock system and be a part of a growing integrated health care system. Other opportunities include expansion and further development of sub-specialty cardiomyopathy clinics, teaching of residents and fellows, engagement in research and career development.

Clinical Responsibilities:

These include but are not limited to:

  • Maintain an active advanced heart failure practice and heart failure board certification
  • Inpatient rounding on the advanced heart failure service at Kaiser Hospital Santa Clara
  • Outpatient clinics including, LVAD, Transplant and Advanced Heart Failure
  • Right heart catheterization and myocardial biopsy

Requirements:

  • Completion of an accredited advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology fellowship
  • ABIM board eligibility or certification in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant
  • Must be eligible to obtain a California medical license or be currently licensed to practice within California

Full-time annual salary range is $425,040 to $440,040 plus additional potential incentives up to $68,490*. Reduced schedules with pro-rated compensation may be available. *Some incentive opportunities are estimates based on potential premium pay.
