Advanced Heart Failure Cardiologist Opportunity- Virginia Mason Franciscan Health (VMFH)
Franciscan Medical Group, along with the Center for Cardiovascular Health at VMFH, is actively recruiting for an Advanced Heart Failure Cardiologist to join our Franciscan Heart and Vascular Associates group and the advanced heart failure team. This position is located in Tacoma, Washington and will be part of the Franciscan Medical Group multi-specialty practice serving the greater South Puget Sound region of Washington State.
The Center for Cardiovascular Health at VMFH encompasses over 150 providers, including interventional cardiologists, electrophysiologists, advanced heart failure specialists, cardiac imaging specialists, vascular surgeons, thoracic surgeons, cardiac surgeons and cardiac anesthesiologists. Our programs have achieved significant recognition within the region and nationally for our quality and outcomes. We are a high volume program performing over 1100 open heart surgeries, 2400 PCIs and 2000 ablations annually. We provide care for over 200,000 patients in our cardiology clinics annually and provide inpatient services for our healthcare system that includes over 1500 beds and 3 tertiary care hospitals in the Greater Seattle Area.
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Maintains an active Advanced Heart Failure practice and is Boarded in Heart Failure
- Inpatient rounding of advanced heart failure service at VMFH regional level, including tertiary medical centers in the region
- Caring for patients with mechanical circulatory devices, ECMO, and pulmonary hypertension.
Other Responsibilities:
- Works collaboratively with service line leadership and appropriate committees for policy and program development
- Reviews quality data with Heart Center Data Team monthly and prior to any registry submission
- Help Develop advanced heart failure outreach programs
- Participates in service line physician and provider recruitment
- Active involvement in CV Fellows and Internal Medicine Housestaff education
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Advanced Heart Failure preferred but recent graduates will be considered
- Ability to obtain a medical professional license in the State of WA
- Ability to obtain a DEA with full prescriptive authority required for the specific practice.
- Board Certification (ABIM)

Pay Range
$202.34 - $297.72 /hour
