Overton Brooks VA Medical Center is recruiting for a full-time permanent board certified/board eligible cardiovascular electrophysiologist physician. The cardiovascular electrophysiologist section is a pillar of the institution and boasts a strong clinical and teaching reputation in the region. We are looking for physician candidates interested in personal growth and career development in our mission arms of excellent care for our nations hero’s, our veterans. We offer:

  • Education Debt Reduction Program (Student Loan Repayment): Assistance with payment of outstanding medical school loans.
  • Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)
  • Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA
  • CME: Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification)
  • Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting

Job Responsibilities

Highlights of this position include:

- Starting base salary: $360,000 - $390,000 per year
- Daily schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
- Full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery from any U.S. State
- Teaching Cardiology fellows, residents, and medical students
- Performs inpatient or outpatient cardiovascular consultation services
- Reviews physical requirements and conducts physical examinations of various categories of military and civilian personnel
- Serves as academic faculty for cardiovascular fellowship training program.

Qualifications

Required

Board Eligible or Board Certified in Cardiac Electrophysiologist
Must be a U.S. Citizen. Non-Citizen candidates will be considered if a U.S. Citizen is not found
Full and unrestricted license from any U.S. State

Working Hours

Daily schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m
