Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: ​

  • The OSF Cardiovascular Institute, part of OSF HealthCare, seeks a BC/BE Electrophysiologist to join their team
  • OSF HealthCare consists of thirteen hospitals and medical centers, one long-term facility and two colleges of nursing. The cardiovascular service line consists over 55 Cardiologists and surgeons. You will walk into a progressive practice that will be busy from day one with a primary care referral base of 300+ providers.
  • We are group of 4 electrophysiologists and 2 nurse practitioners who work very closely with one another in addition to collaborating with a very skilled pediatric electrophysiologist
  • We have electrophysiology labs with dedicated EP staff who are familiar with performing all devices, Watchman, complex ablations including epicardial VT ablation as well as Impella devices if needed.
  • OSF Medical Center is a 650 bed hospital with approximately 12 feeder hospitals with a catchment area of 2 million patients. Volume is not a problem at our institution and we currently have waiting periods of several months for an atrial fibrillation ablation.
  • OSF was recently ranked by Forbes Magazine as the best employer in the state of Illinois and as number 46 best employer nationally.
  • Moreover, we are actively involved in medical education as we have a general cardiology fellowship. These fellows greatly assist us in weekday call 1 to 2 times a month and weekend call every 4-5 weeks.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Doctorate Licenses/Certifications: Physician Licensed to practice medicine in current state.
  • Board certified or board eligible in the appropriate specialty (ies).
  • Obtain and maintain medical staff membership and appropriate privileges.
  • Must be eligible as a provider for Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal health programs.
  • Physician shall meet all qualifications to participate in OSF's programs for professional malpractice and other liability coverage.
  • Licensed by the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration and the State of Illinois to prescribe narcotics, if applicable.
