Hours/week: 40 Hours/week

Duties/Responsibilities:
• Appointment at the rank of Instructor (non-track) may also be considered.
• Participating in team-based anesthesia care and personally providing anesthesia care.
• Serving as a member of an interdisciplinary team, collaborating for effective patient outcomes.
• Active participation in the academic activities of the Department and College of Medicine.
• Supervising students, residents, fellows, SRNA's and non-anesthesia rotators.
• Providing developmental feedback to those under supervision, verbally and in writing.
• Preparing educational materials, leading and/or attending academic lectures and professional development events.
• Research activities are encouraged, though participation is not required for continued employment or promotion.

Desirable Qualifications:
• Fellowship training or equivalent clinical experience in any of the subspecialty areas listed in Attribute.
• Interest in teaching and/or basic or clinical research.
• Ultrasound-Guided Procedures: Candidates should be proficient in using ultrasound technology for performing nerve blocks and placing invasive lines.

Requirements:
• Successful completion of an approved residency training program in Anesthesiology.
• Must be eligible for licensure in the State of Iowa.
• Must be certified by the American Board of Anesthesiologists or be in the certification process.

Education:
• MD, DO, MBBS, or equivalent.
