Job Overview:

Seeking a Anesthesiologist to provide locum coverage on select dates throughout 2025. The role involves a mix of pediatric and adult cases, including neonatal anesthesia, sedation for children, and a variety of surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide anesthesia for pediatric and adult patients, including neonatal cases.
  • Work in both the main OR and non-operating room anesthetizing locations (NORA) such as MRI, radiology, and endoscopy.
  • Perform general anesthesia, intubation, IV placement, fiberoptic bronchoscopy, arterial and central line placements.
  • Supervise and collaborate with residents, CRNAs, and Certified Anesthesiologist Assistants (AAs) in some cases.
  • Expected to manage 2-8 cases per day
  • No clinic duties; primarily OR-based.
  • Optional participation in resident didactic lectures.
  • Work hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM (No on-call requirements).

Requirements:

  • Board Certified/Board Eligible (BC/BE) in Anesthesiology.
  • Fellowship in Pediatric Anesthesia preferred, but not required if the provider has relevant experience.
  • Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS required.
  • Experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center setting preferred.
  • Proficiency with EPIC EMR system.

Support & Work Environment:

  • Support staff includes: Anesthesia techs, Patient Support Assistants, and a Charge Anesthesiologist available for assistance.
  • Supervision of mid-level providers (CRNAs and AAs) required as part of the role.
  • No fellows involved in the supervision model.

Locum Coverage Dates:

  • April 7-11
  • May 12-16, May 27-30
  • June 2-6, June 9-13, June 16-20
  • Potential for additional shifts through December 2025 with an option to extend.
