Anesthesiologist (Locum)

Job Overview:
Seeking a Anesthesiologist to provide locum coverage on select dates throughout 2025. The role involves a mix of pediatric and adult cases, including neonatal anesthesia, sedation for children, and a variety of surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide anesthesia for pediatric and adult patients, including neonatal cases.
- Work in both the main OR and non-operating room anesthetizing locations (NORA) such as MRI, radiology, and endoscopy.
- Perform general anesthesia, intubation, IV placement, fiberoptic bronchoscopy, arterial and central line placements.
- Supervise and collaborate with residents, CRNAs, and Certified Anesthesiologist Assistants (AAs) in some cases.
- Expected to manage 2-8 cases per day
- No clinic duties; primarily OR-based.
- Optional participation in resident didactic lectures.
- Work hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM (No on-call requirements).
Requirements:
- Board Certified/Board Eligible (BC/BE) in Anesthesiology.
- Fellowship in Pediatric Anesthesia preferred, but not required if the provider has relevant experience.
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS required.
- Experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center setting preferred.
- Proficiency with EPIC EMR system.
Support & Work Environment:
- Support staff includes: Anesthesia techs, Patient Support Assistants, and a Charge Anesthesiologist available for assistance.
- Supervision of mid-level providers (CRNAs and AAs) required as part of the role.
- No fellows involved in the supervision model.
Locum Coverage Dates:
- April 7-11
- May 12-16, May 27-30
- June 2-6, June 9-13, June 16-20
- Potential for additional shifts through December 2025 with an option to extend.
