Healthcare United is seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Anesthesiologist with Critical Care Experience to join our collaborative and innovative team in Southwest Georgia. This full-time position offers a flexible schedule, a wide variety of cases, and the opportunity to work with state-of-the-art technology in a supportive environment.

Position Highlights

As an Anesthesiologist/Critical Care Physician, you will:

  • Schedule: Work 26 weeks on/26 weeks off, typically 7 on/7 off, or per mutual agreement with the anesthesiology team.
  • Team Collaboration: Work with a team of Anesthesiologists, CRNAs, and AAs, with 2 anesthesiologists per shift.
  • Call Duties: Provide critical care call coverage and serve as backup for anesthesiologists during your scheduled week on.
  • Hospital Facilities:
    • 7 OR suites and 2 endoscopy suites.
    • Access a 24/7 physicians' lounge with meals provided.
    • Utilize a state-of-the-art Medical Education Center with simulation rooms and a conference center.
  • Technology:
    • New Mindray anesthesia machines with advanced features like ultrasounds.
    • Glidescope for emergency airways and Belmont rapid infusers for critical care scenarios.
    • Robotic cases supported by 4 Da Vinci Robots and Mako robot.
  • ICU:
    • Consult in a 10-bed open ICU while partnering with pulmonology and critical care physicians for daily rounds.

Case Highlights

  • Bread-and-Butter General Anesthesia Cases (nerve blocks, A-lines, epidurals, etc.).
  • OB Services: Over 700 deliveries annually.
  • Robotics Focus: Significant number of robotic-assisted surgeries.
  • Approximately 8–9 starts/day, 600 cases/month, including 150 endoscopies.
  • Exclusions: No cardiac or neurosurgery cases.

Requirements

  • Completion of an anesthesiology residency and critical care fellowship (or upcoming completion).
  • Board Certification/Eligibility in Anesthesiology (certification required within 4 years if eligible).
  • Active Georgia Medical License or eligibility via the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact.
  • Strong clinical skills and experience in team-based care.
