Facility in Belfast, ME seeking Anesthesiology locums coverage

Rates: $410/hr

Position Overview

• Specialty: Anesthesiology

• Practice Setting: Critical Access Hospital

• Case Load: 14-16 surgical cases per day (including endoscopy)

• Procedures Required:

  • General Surgical Cases (Adult)

  • Minor Nerve Blocks

  • Plexus Anesthesia

  • Epidural & Spinal Anesthesia

  • Regional Anesthesia

  • Obstetrical Cases (OB)

  • Pain Management Procedures (Acute)

  • Insertion of Arterial Line

  • Evaluation & Management of Acute Volume/BP Issues

Trauma Level: No Trauma Cases

Schedule & Call Coverage

Dates of Coverage:

• April 14 - 24

• May 19 - 30

• June, July, August: Exact dates TBD (at least 2 weeks per month needed)

Shift Schedule: 07:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Call Schedule:

• Weeknights: 7 AM - 4 PM, every 3rd night (flexible)

• Weekends: 24-hour call (1 weekend per month, 1:4 rotation)

OB Program: Active (4-6 deliveries per month)

• Epidural Policies:

  • Allowed to leave the hospital after initiation

  • Must be available for call-back (30 min response time per ACOG guidelines)

Supervision of CRNAs? No – Physicians do their own cases
Number of Anesthesiologists in Practice: 4
Number of Anesthesia Sites Per Day: 3 (including ORs & endoscopy rooms)

Credentialing & Requirements

Board Certified in Anesthesiology (ABA) – Required
Maine Medical License or IMLC – Required
OB Anesthesia Experience – Required
ACLS & BLS Certification – Preferred

Credentialing Timeframe: ~60 days
