Orlando Health is seeking a BE/BC Anesthesiologist for Orlando Health Sebastian River Hospital in beautiful Indian River County which is situated between Melbourne and Vero Beach on the east coast of Florida. The hospital is 178 -bed comprehensive medical and surgical facility serving the communities along Florida’s Treasure Coast. The case mix ranges from GI, Ortho, General Sx, Thoracic, Vascular and GYN. The responsibility in this position is to deliver an exceptional patient experience with safe, up to date care, while acting as a catalyst to expand the organization’s mission and achieve its vision.

Essential Functions

  • Collaborative member of anesthesia department to work with surgeons, nurses, and other medical professionals.
  • Evaluate and formulate anesthetic plan for patients undergoing surgical and/or diagnostic care.
  • Supervision/Medical Direction of certified anesthetists delivering anesthesia.
  • Personally administer anesthesia intraoperatively with continuous monitoring of vital signs and titration of anesthesia needed.

  • Schedule is 7 on 7 off with call included on your 7 days on.
  • Maintain reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Maintain compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.

Role Requirements

  • Anesthesiologists must be either an M.D. or D.O. with the completion of an approved ACGME or AOA Anesthesiology Residency program.
  • Board eligible or board certified in Anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology or the American Osteopathic Association.
  • Anesthesiologist must complete and meet hospital credentialing requirements.
  • Training in advanced regional anesthesia and nerve blocks highly preferred.
  • Must hold or be able to obtain active Florida medical license prior to start.
