Yale New Haven Health - Northeast Medical Group (NEMG) is seeking a full-time Anesthesiologist to join our collegial, family-oriented anesthesia team. Job Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Implement accurate, safe, patient-centric anesthetic care.
Complete a thorough anesthesia apparatus safety check and ensure all monitoring equipment is prepared for the delivery of a given anesthetic.
Conduct pre-anesthetic assessments.
Obtain and/or verify patient consent.
Discuss anesthetic options and risks with patients.
Manage induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia.
Monitor the patient’s physiological condition.
Perform clinical interventions as needed.
Accurately document in the anesthesia record.
Protect patient health information in all forms.
Demonstrate a high standard of moral and ethical behavior, professionalism, compassion, and commitment to patient care.
Continuously engage in professional development and improve professional competency.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:
Possess and maintain valid American Board certification in Anesthesiology.
Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted state medical license as required by the assigned hospital and practice.
BLS certification, valid DEA registration, and Controlled Substance Certificate.
Proficient in charting using electronic medical records, currently using EPIC at our sites.

Skills

Anesthesiologists must possess physical stamina to lift or turn disabled patients and perform other physical tasks. They need strong problem-solving skills to quickly evaluate patients' symptoms and administer appropriate treatments, especially in life-threatening situations. Key skills include understanding spoken and written information, speaking clearly for effective communication, listening actively and asking questions, and writing clearly so others can understand. Additionally, they should be able to read and comprehend work-related materials.
