Aspire Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled and compassionate Anesthesiologist to provide services at Buffalo VA Medical Center.

Base: April 1, 2025- September 30, 2025
Option 1: October 1, 2025- September 30, 2026
Option 2: October 1, 2026- September 30, 2027
Option 3: October 1, 2027- September 30, 2028

Qualifications

Must be a US Citizen
Experience:
At least 5 years of experience as an Anesthesiologist.
License:
Must have a current and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia when services are performed onsite on VA property.
Board Certification:
Must be Board Certified /Board Eligible by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA) and be currently certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or equivalency.
Residency Requirement:
Successful candidates must have completed an ACGME approved residency in Anesthesiology. In addition, 1 physician must be a Cardiac Anesthesiologist who has completed a one-year fellowship in Cardiac Anesthesiology and should be proficient with advanced echocardiography. The candidate will be required on site on Tuesdays and Thursdays. If the candidate is not fellowship trained in Cardiac Anesthesiology, they should have sufficient clinical Cardiac Anesthesiology experience (3-5 years working in the field) and be comfortable reading TEE (trans-esophageal echocardiography). (Note: Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) is not performed at the Buffalo VAMC at this time)

Working Hours

VA Business Hours: Normal administrative hours are 8:00 to 16:30, Monday through
Friday.

Operating Room (O.R). Schedule: Currently, normal OR hours are 07:00 – 15:30
Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. Employee shall provide 40 hours per week
during the O.R. hours; specific times may vary or be negotiated with the Employee closer to start date. Additional time may be needed for necessary procedures, which will be established and/or revised, as deemed appropriate for patient care by the VA Chief of Staff.

On-call shifts will be assigned on a rotating basis by the VA at least three weeks in advance. If a contractor’s physician is called back to the VA for a case, the base hourly rate applies from the time the physician arrives at the hospital to the time the physician leaves the hospital.
