Job Description: Anesthesiologist Locum Tenens
Location: Rockport, ME
Shift Type: Varied

Job Summary:

• Position: Locum Anesthesiologist to cover staff retirement
• Facility: Community hospital with 4 operating rooms, 2 endoscopy sites, and OB services.
• Practice Setting: Care team model, supervising CRNAs, solo on-call duty.

Schedule:

• Day Shift: 0700 - 1600.
• Night Shift: Home call from 1600 - 0700.
• Weekend: 24-hour home call.
• Call Ratio: On average, 1 in every 4 weeks for full-time staff.
• Night Float Option: One week at a time if desired.

Duties:

• Supervision: Required to supervise CRNAs under a care team model.
• Anesthesia Procedures:
  • General adult and pediatric surgical cases.
  • Minor nerve blocks, IV regional anesthesia, plexus anesthesia, spinal anesthesia, epidural anesthesia, and regional anesthesia.
  • Obstetrical anesthesia for deliveries.
  • Acute pain management procedures.
  • Insertion of central and arterial lines.
  • Evaluation and management of acute volume/BP issues.

Facility & Patient Info:

• Trauma Level: III
• Operating Rooms: 4 ORs.
• Average Surgical Cases: 10-12 per day.
• Patient Demographics: Ages 1 and older.
• Documentation: Epic EMR system.

Credentialing & Licensing:

• Credentialing Timeframe: 60-90 days.
• Required:
  • Board Certification: ABA
  • Licensure: Active Maine State License
  • Certifications:
    • BLS
    • ACLS
    • PALS
