We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Pediatric Anesthesiologist to join our team. This position requires expertise in both pediatric and adult anesthesiology, with a primary focus on pediatric patients. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing a wide variety of cases, from healthy to sick pediatric patients, and be prepared for both independent and supervisory anesthesia work.
Position Details:
- Schedule: 7-3p Monday through Friday, 40-hour workweek, with mutually agreed upon call and weekend shifts
- Call Schedule:
- Weekday Call: Beeper call from approximately 6:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Weekend Call: Beeper call from Friday evening to Monday morning
- Call Back Volume: 3-5 cases over the weekend, 25% callback rate during the week
- Post-call: Post-call days are off
- Work Mix:
- Weekdays: Mainly supervisory work
- Weekends: 50/50 mix of independent anesthesia work and supervision of anesthesia providers
Case Types:
- Pediatric Cases: Up to 60-70% of your caseload will be pediatric patients, ranging from neonates to adolescents. Cases include ENT, orthopedic, general surgery, ophthalmology, dental, urology, and some neurosurgery.
- Adult Cases: Adult general surgery, vascular, gynecology, ENT, and occasional MRI and cath lab cases.
Patient Demographics:
- Pediatrics: Comfortable managing both healthy and sick pediatric patients (70-80% are healthy).
- Age Range: Pediatric cases will include patients from 0 days old and up.
Requirements:
- Pediatric Anesthesia Fellowship required
- Board certification or eligibility in Anesthesiology with Pediatric Anesthesia fellowship training
- Must be comfortable with both in-house and beeper call
