We are currently seeking a Locums Anesthesia Physician for a hospital-based position in Sioux City, IA. This role involves providing anesthesia services at a Level 2 trauma center, with a focus on adult and geriatric patients. The shift schedule is Monday to Friday from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m., with occasional weekday call from 3 p.m. to 6 a.m. Weekend call may also be required, with a call ratio of 1:5.
The surgical services department averages 13 surgical cases per day, with 12 operating rooms in use. The annual ER volume is approximately 25,000. Candidates must have experience with a wide range of procedures, including general surgical cases for adults and pediatrics, nerve blocks, regional and spinal anesthesia, thoracic and open-heart surgeries, complex vascular and orthopedic cases, as well as pain management procedures.
Additionally, candidates must be skilled in the insertion of central lines, arterial lines, and PA catheters, and in the evaluation and management of acute volume and blood pressure issues. Experience with cardiac anesthesia is required, as is the ability to handle heart cases.
