Anesthesiology opening near Hartford, CT - Located in Bloomfield, CT - Hartford 15m - Full-time, permanent position - Must be BE/BC Position Purpose: Provide high-quality and versatile anesthesia care for patients undergoing various surgical and medical procedures, ensuring safe and effective pain management before, during, and after procedures. Key Responsibilities: Anesthesia Administration: Utilize various methods (intravenous, local, caudal, or spinal) to administer anesthesia or sedation during procedures. Patient Monitoring: Supervise patients and monitor their responses to anesthesia throughout the surgical process, addressing any complications or reactions. Risk Assessment: Evaluate patients' risks by taking medical histories, conducting examinations, and ordering diagnostic tests; consult with other healthcare professionals to determine the safest anesthesia approach. Airway Management & Life Support: Provide and sustain airway management and life support, especially during emergency situations. Post-Surgery Monitoring: Monitor patients post-operatively, determining when they are stable enough for discharge or relocation. Care Coordination: Manage anesthesia services and work with other healthcare providers to establish comprehensive care plans, overseeing support staff as needed. Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on post-procedure care, potential complications, and preventive health measures. Collaboration: Communicate effectively with the healthcare team to ensure high-quality, coordinated patient care. Research: Participate in research initiatives aimed at advancing the field of anesthesiology. Qualifications: Education: Medical degree with board certification in Anesthesiology. Experience: Minimum of two years in a multispecialty physician group setting, with progressive experience preferred. Skills & Abilities: - Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. - Proficient in infection prevention and control, and knowledge of growth and development principles across the lifespan. - Computer proficiency and ability to multitask. - Initiative-driven, ethical, and capable of resolving conflicts.
