Locum Tenens - Anesthesiologist - Sioux City, IA Assignment Details: Start Date: September 2024 (temp privileges available for a quick start). End date: Ongoing Coverage: Full-time, Monday through Friday with some weekend call Call Schedule: 1 MD on call every day 1 MD as 2nd call every day 1 MD post call every day 1 MD on day shift only Call Ratio: 1 in 5 Weekend Call: Alternating 1st and 2nd call on Saturdays and Sundays 1st Call: Can go home once cases are finished; returns if called in 2nd Call: Stays late and serves as backup for non-cardiac MDAs Practice Setting: Facility: Hospital-based surgical services department in a Level 2 trauma center Number of Operating Rooms: 12 Average Surgical Cases Per Day: 13 EMR System: Cerner PowerChart Patient Demographic: Mostly adult and geriatric patients Responsibilities: Supervision of experienced CRNAs (almost 100% supervision) Performing a range of anesthesia procedures including: General anesthesia for both adult and pediatric cases Minor nerve blocks, IV regional anesthesia, plexus anesthesia Open heart anesthesia, thoracic, and complex vascular cases Spinal and epidural anesthesia, regional anesthesia, and neurosurgical cases Ventilation management, local infiltration, and pain management Insertion of central lines, arterial lines, and PA catheters Evaluation and management of acute volume/BP issues Requirements: Board Certification: Required Licensure: Active Iowa license or IMLC (Required) Experience: Strong cardiac experience required; ability to perform heart cases Certifications: COVID-19 vaccination required Availability: Must note when available to start at time of name clear Additional Information: Credentialing Timeframe: Approximately 60 days Call: Opportunity for weekend call coverage; new locums typically not scheduled for immediate first call Rate Structure: Hourly Rate Cap: $325 Nightly Call Rate Cap: $400 On-Call Daily Rate Cap: $3,000 Call Back and Holiday Call Back Rates: To be determined This opportunity is ideal for a Board-Certified Anesthesiologist with strong cardiac experience, looking for a full-time locum tenens position.
