Waldo County General Hospital is seeking a skilled Anesthesiologist to join our team. Ideally looking for full-time candidates but will consider those seeking part-time opportunities.

Dates Needed: January 1, 2025 - September 1, 2025

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Call Requirements:

• Weeknight call: 7 AM - 4 PM, every third night (flexible)
• Weekend call: 24 hours, one weekend per month (1:4 call ratio)

About the Facility:

This critical access hospital is located in the historic seaport of Belfast, Maine. The working environment is supported by a congenial and professional staff dedicated to patient care.

Patient Demographics:

Caring for a diverse patient age range from 3 to over 100 years old.

Case Volume:

Average of 14-16 surgical cases per day, including endoscopic procedures.

Procedures Required:

• General surgical cases for adults
• Minor nerve blocks
• Plexus anesthesia
• Epidural anesthesia
• Spinal anesthesia
• Regional anesthesia
• Obstetrical cases

Support Criteria:

Anesthesia is primarily physician-led, with no requirement to supervise CRNAs. You will handle your own cases and prepare the anesthesia cart.

Documentation:

Utilize EPIC for patient charting and management.

Credentialing:

Estimated timeframe is 60 days.

Requirements:

• Board Certified in Anesthesiology (or in the board certification process)
• Active Maine medical license (IMLC or non-licensed candidates will not be considered)
• ACLS and BLS certifications preferred

• Mileage reimbursement at the IRS standard rate
• Rental car and hotel accommodations provided
