Shifts Offered: 8-hour shifts (7 AM - 3 PM) and 10-hour shifts (7 AM - 5 PM)
Call Ratio/Schedule: Locum physicians rarely take call. If call is required, it will be 24-hour OB call, in-house. Weekend call is 24 hours, and weekday call is from 3 PM to 7 AM.
Types of Cases: All specialties are covered.
Number of Cases per Day: Approximately 140 cases total across all ORs.
Lunch: Depends on the day and site. Providers generally have lunch breaks at busier sites with CRNAs/CAAs.
EMR System: Epic
Hands-On Percentage (MD/DO): 100% hands-on
Supervision or Medical Direction (CRNA): Independent. Occasionally, physician locums may need to medically direct CRNAs, but only if they are comfortable and established.
Number of ORs: 32 ORs across 8 facilities
Current Practice Staffing: 31 MDs, 22 CRNAs, and 3 CAAs
Certifications Required: No specific certifications required. No cardiac cases; only general anesthesia.
Vaccine Requirements: No COVID vaccine required, but flu vaccine will be required during flu season.
Credentialing Timeframe: 120 days for full credentialing, but emergency privileges can be granted as needed.
