Position Summary:
The Department of Anesthesiology at LSU is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Anesthesiologist for an academic faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor (non-tenure, clinical track). The ideal candidate will have a passion for patient care, education, and research, with a desire to contribute to the academic mission of the department. This position offers a unique balance of clinical practice, teaching responsibilities, and opportunities for scholarly activity.

Key Responsibilities:
·Provide high-quality anesthesia care across a range of surgical specialties, including general anesthesia, regional anesthesia, and subspecialties as per the candidate’s expertise.
·Supervise and teach anesthesiology residents and medical students in both clinical settings and academic conferences.
·Participate in educational activities, including lectures, and curriculum development.
·Engage in research activities with support for academic development, including clinical trials, research, or basic projects.
·Contribute to departmental quality improvement initiatives, patient safety programs, and evidence-based practice protocols.
·Share in call responsibilities, working closely with a collaborative team of faculty and residents.

Qualifications:
·MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
·Board certification or board eligibility (or equivalent) in Anesthesiology.
·Licensed to practice medicine in Louisiana before start date.
·Demonstrated commitment to academic anesthesiology, including excellence in clinical care, teaching, and research.
