Overview

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding an Anesthesiologists to the group at NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi. Jacobi is a 457-bed, Level I Trauma Center and NCB has 213 licensed beds. The hospital maintains a strong academic affiliation with Albert Einstein Medical College to maintain its high healthcare delivery standards. The department of Anesthesiology has up to 6000 cases per year and 2000 deliveries.

Opportunity Details

  • Determines and prescribes kinds of anesthetics and procedures to be employed in various categories of cases
  • Advises Anesthetists and Surgeons in cases where age or condition of patient presents unusual or complex problems
  • Recommends suitable anesthesia, advises on dosages and consults on post-operative complications
  • Reviews case histories and is responsible for all matters pertaining to Anesthesiology
  • Attends clinical conferences
  • Performs related work as required
  • Calls are paid extra per hour and are about 4 to 5 per month in house
  • Daily resident coverage is about 1:1. Ob coverage is 1 attending 1 CRNA 24/7. OR call is with residents or CRNA

Qualifications

  • Graduation from medical school of recognized standing with the degree of Doctor of Medicine with a NYS License
  • Completion of an acceptable residency training in an approved program
  • Board Eligible or Certified in Anesthesiology
  • Experience in block placement in upper and lower extremities preferred but not required
  • Additional Fellowship training is welcome

Wages and Benefits include:

Annual Base Salary: $390,000* (board eligible); $400,000* (board certified) based on 40-hour work week. Additional compensation available for extra call or sessional/per diem hours.

The annual total value of the compensation package is estimated between $637,350** (board eligible) and $650,000** (board certified) which includes the baseline salary, fringe benefits, sessional/per diem hours, and other factors as set forth below:

  • Estimated annual compensation for 10 additional sessional/per diem hours worked per week is $104,000***
  • Projected bonus of up to $40,000 (based on previous year’s average), contingent upon meeting quality and productivity targets
  • 401(k) Company Contribution (subject to IRS contribution limits):

-Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required -After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required
