Description of Work Assignment : Generalist anesthesiologist needed. No hearts, no OB, no kids under 8 years (unless specifically skilled and interested in pediatric anesthesia).


Examples include ortho, bariatric, Gyn, acute care surgery, robotic urology, adult ENT, GI. Mix of inpatient and outpatient surgery. Mix of solo cases, supervising CRNAs, AAs, and anesthesia residents. Medical direction supervision with some 1:3 supervision, mostly 1:2.

Breakdown of Clinic Days/Sessions and/or OR Days: No clinic, only OR. Occasional resident didactic lectures are an option if interested, but not expected.

Schedule of Days/Times Needed To Work/ Shift Hours: Available 7 am – 5 pm. Mon-Fri. No call, no weekends, no holidays.

On call? If so, what are the call hours? No call. Relieved at 5 pm.

Procedures Provider Will Be REQUIRED To Perform: General anesthesia, intubation, IV placement, spinal, epidural for post-op pain (not OB) occasional arterial line/central line. There are always faculty anesthesiologists and the Charge Anesthesiologist available to help.

Anticipated Procedures/Surgeries per Week: 4-10 cases per day on average when supervising 1:2.

Varies if on GI vs main OR.

Does the Provider Have Particular Fellowship? Not required.

Will You Accept Experience Over Fellowship? Yes

Board Status Requirement (BC/BE): BC/BE

Certifications Required? BLS, ACLS, PALS?? BLC/ACLS yes, PALS if interested in peds anesthesia

(peds work not required, but available)

Is There Additional Surgical Staff? N/A

Is there additional support staff? Anesthesia techs for supplies, room cleaning. Patient Support Assistant staff members in OR to assist anesthesia with positioning and procedures.

Is the provider working solo or with other providers? If so, whom? Some solo, some supervision of CRNA/AA and anesthesia residents (CA-1 to CA-3). No fellows.

Are there mid levels? If yes, is the locums provider responsible for mid levels? Yes, CRNA and AA mid-levels will be supervised.
